Big news from the Centennial State: The stellar anthology “Monsters, Movies & Mayhem,” published by WordFire Press, edited by the renowned Kevin J. Anderson, assembled by the grad students of his publishing MA program at Western Colorado University – and in which yours truly is honored to have a story included – won the 2021 Colorado Book Award for Best Anthology last weekend!

Wow – I knew it was a great collection but this enthusiastic reception was more than I ever expected and I am sincerely proud to have been able to contribute to such a rightfully lauded anthology. Thank you again to Kevin and all of his students for letting me be part of the team.
MM&M includes stories written by such genre luminaries as Jonathan Maberry, Fran Wilde, Steve Rasnic Tem and Rick Wilber, among others – and I highly recommend you pick up a copy if you are at all interested in scary movies, monsters of any sort, or just generally excellent weird fiction.
My own contribution, “Flickering Dusk of the Video God,” sees an exploitation film director return to his Rust Belt hometown in the wake of his father’s suspicious suicide to discover bizarre and occult happenings at the dead man’s video rental shop.
Congratulations to Kevin, his team, and all my fellow contributors.
